Pekanbaru, 22 July 2017 – Awarding Night of Child Friendly District/City (KLA) was held at SKA Co Ex Pekanbaru. In this event, 126 Districts/Cities in Indonesia received the KLA awards, one of them was Head of LPKA Palembang City, Endang Lintang Hardiman.
In her remarks, Minister of Women Empowerment and Child Protection, Yohana Yembise said that the KLA awards was part of a series of events to commemorate National Children’s Day which was held previously on Wednesday (18/7). Yembise urged people to be more aware of the importance of children’s rights, including protecting them from violence. This award was given with a fairly long assessment process, through evaluation according to the indicators set. For this reason, the award was divided into several levels, namely Utama, Nindya, Madya, and Pratama.
With this award night, it was expected that all Districts/Cities in Indonesia would be more motivated to realize a safe and comfortable child-friendly region to be able to produce qualified future generation.
