After the issuance of the Constitutional Court’s decision number 97/PUU-XIV/2016 on October 18, 2017, the government began to put a column of belief for the believers.
In Yogyakarta, there are 22 groups of believers who still do not put their belief on the identity card (KTP). Unfortunately, as of June 15, 2019, the Yogyakarta City Population and Civil Registry Office had only received two applications related to the inclusion of belief in the KTP from local residents. Even though, every citizen who submits the request will automatically obtain a new family card (KK) which also includes a column for belief.
Therefore, the socialization to the community groups related to the inclusion of a belief in KTP continues to be carried out; from the meeting of the believer groups to socialization in the community through the RT.
Meanwhile, through a letter number B/891/L6/KL.00.00/2019 on June 12, 2019, the Higher Education Service Institution (LL Dikti) Region VI of Central Java has provided a recommendation to Universitas 17 Agustus 1945 (Untag) Semarang to open a new study program, namely study program of Belief in God Almighty. Later, the study program will work closely with the Directorate of Belief in God Almighty and Tradition of Ministry of Education and Culture.
Aside from aiming to create competent human resources in doing the development to the believers, the opening of the study program is also done to give recognition to the believers.
If the application for the opening of this new study program is approved by Kemenristekdikti, Untag will be the first and only campus in Central Java that has a study program of Belief in God Almighty.
“It’s now just how Untag Semarang will provide teaching staff. For this study program, three to five lecturers are sufficient, plus several assessor. For students, in the first year of one class, 15-20 people are enough,” Sugiharto as the Head of the Region VI LL Dikti, quoted from Bisnis.com.
Quoting IDN Times, Semarang Untag Rector, Prof. Suparno, said that the opening of the study program was carried out based on the consideration that the campus had often dealt with the believers who were entangled in legal cases.
“Because several times we have participated in advocating cases involving believers, that is the consideration of the Ministry of Research and Technology (Kemenristek). We immediately seized the opportunity by opening a study progrm of Belief in God Almighty,” explained Suparno to IDN Times, Friday (6/14).
This study progrm of Belief in God Almighty will later join the Untag Faculty of Arts and Culture and is planned to open in the new school year 2019/2020. Suparno also hoped that the opening of this study program could provide enlightenment to the wider community regarding the details of the teachings in the Belief in God Almighty.
At present, the study program lecture material is still being developed by the Kemenristek committee. Meanwhile, Untag itself has prepared six competent lecturers to teach for the study program.
